Thanks to all who made it down for the launch. Good work all round. We are back this Saturday with Nialler9 and Inky wrists.
Since November 2005, Nialler9 has been enthusing about the music he loves whether it be indie, electronica, hip-hop, folk, dubstep or rock. Whatever – as long as it’s good. As Duke Ellington said “There are two kinds of music. Good music, and the other kind.” The blog has become an influential force on the Irish music scene and has led to Niall working for music magazines, national newspapers and a slot on the judging panel for the Choice Music Prize – the annual Irish album of the year award.
Over 2500 people visit Nialler9 daily to catch up on the chronicle of musical delights contained within. The site has won four in a row at the Irish Blog Awards for Best Music Blog in 2007, 2008, 2009 & 2010 as well as Best Music Site at the Irish Web Awards in 2009 and most recently, Nialler9 was voted the 5th Best Music Blog In The World in a poll of music blogging peers.
The girls over at Inky Wrists will make their Kitchen debut at Parliament on March 26th alongside fellow blogger Nialler9.

If you’re on the look out for a Saturday night of great music in a deadly venue, then look no further. The Kitchen has got an amazing rave basement and a quality soundsystem. Every Saturday you can expect brilliant music and proper old-fashioned all-night fun, with stellar residents, great guest DJs and sound people.
Musically you are most likely to hear the likes of Mr Scruff, The Revenge, Fat Freddys Drop, Prince, Flying Lotus, Moodymann, Joker, Funkadelic, J Dilla and James Blake. We will be kick-starting our Saturday night residency in the Kitchen on March 19th with Handsome Paddy supplying the beats alongside Steve Manning and Lil Dave.
I don’t listen to RA mixes as much I used to but the latest Discodeine mix is perfect ipod fodder. Discodeine are French producers Cédric Marszewski and Benjamin Morando, who are more commonly known as Pilooski and Pentile. The duo have been releasing a colourful brand of club music under the name since 2008’s Joystick EP, and have just put-out a self-titled album, which called upon the vocal talents of Jarvis Cocker, Baxter Dury and Matias Aguayo. Pilooski has played in Dublin a few times and built a name for himself in his own right during the ’00s, thanks largely to his Dirty Edits series and remixes for LCD Soundsystem and Mystery Jets. While less widely recognized, Pentile was part of several recording projects at the beginning of the last decade—Octet, France Copland and solo as Morando.
